RORY

Introducing Rory! Rory is a 2-year-old bi-color German/Belgian Shepherd mix who is just beginning to learn the ways of the world after being rescued. She has a beautiful velvet-like black brindle coat that seems to change each day. Rory is smart, athletic, and food motivated, so it is easy for her to learn new commands and behaviors.

Although she did not have the best start in life, Rory is acclimating to her foster home and slowly coming out of her shell. She has learned to walk well on the leash and enjoys her daily walks with her foster mom. Since she is still skittish in new situations, Rory will need a kind, confident, and patient person to help her continue to develop poise and self-assurance. She is already making great progress in her foster home and has become very loving with her foster mom. Rory is going to be a wonderful, loyal companion to a person or couple who want to make her their very best friend and who want to help her learn to trust.

Rory definitely has a playful, silly side that is beginning to shine through. She loves to play ball and runs with great speed! Because of her speed and because she can be skittish in new situations and with loud noises, Rory will need to be kept on-leash unless she is in a fenced in yard.

While Rory accepts other dogs with proper introduction, she will really blossom in a quiet adult-only household without other pets. Rory cannot be placed in a home with children.

Rory weighs about 45 pounds. She is spayed and current on vaccines, on heart worm preventative, microchipped, crate trained, and leash trained.  She is a sweet intelligent girl who is a joy to train (and watch TV with)!

Rory’s home must have a SECURE FENCED IN YARD. She will need a patient, experienced, and loving handler who will continue her training and socialization. And, in return, Rory will provide endless devotion and affection! Potential adopters must have a secure fenced in yard, no children in the home, no cats or dogs in the home.
